Troop 1, Pack 1 and Pack 4 invite the community to enjoy a morning of hot food and good company at the annual Scout Pancake Breakfast. This year, the traditional Troop 1 event expands to include the entire Pelham Scouting community, uniting to raise funds for the Greater Hudson Valley Council. The breakfast will take place on Sunday, February 8 from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Christ Church (corner of Shore Road and Pelhamdale Avenue).

The annual breakfast has long been a way for the Troop 1 Scouts to connect with the community. This year’s event will direct all proceeds to the Greater Hudson Valley Council (GHVC). As the backbone of local scouting, the Council supports youth across the region in Cub Scout Packs, Scout Troops, Venturing Crews, Sea Scout Ships, and Exploring Posts. It manages the essential scout reservations where local youth experience the outdoors and the adventure of camping, including the Curtis S. Read Scout Reservation in the Adirondacks and the Durland Scout Reservation in Putnam Valley.

Pelham scouts test their outdoor skills at these locations, as Troop 1 did during their recent summer session at Camp Read. By maintaining these properties and providing leadership training for volunteers, the Council ensures these life-changing experiences remain available to all families.

“This breakfast is a great tradition for bringing our neighbors together, but it is also an opportunity to support the backbone of our program,” said Jason Feldman, Committee Chairman for Troop 1. “The Council maintains the camps and runs the events where our scouts grow. By supporting them, we ensure those adventures remain possible for the next generation.”

Guests can look forward to a hearty menu featuring pancakes, sausages, and beverages, all prepared and served by the Scouts of Troop 1.

A suggested donation of $10 per person is requested at the door.

About Pelham Scouting (Scouting America/BSA) The Pelham Scouting community, affiliated with the Greater Hudson Valley Council of Scouting America, offers a continuous program of character development, life skills, outdoor adventure, and community service.

Troop 1 Founded in 1916, Troop 1 is one of scouting’s oldest continually operating troops, serving the community for well over a century. It provides a robust Scouting program for boys and young men from 6th grade through high school, focused on character development, citizenship training, leadership development, and personal fitness. The troop has a proud tradition of guiding numerous Scouts to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, scouting’s highest honor. Activities emphasize challenging outdoor adventures, including regular trips to BSA High Adventure bases like Philmont, Sea Base, and Northern Tier, alongside skill-building and community service. The troop is currently chartered by Christ Church Pelham. To learn more about Pelham Troop 1’s year-round activities and opportunities to join, visit our Facebook page.
