Please give a warm welcome to Marika Andersson! Marika will begin as our new Parish Administrator on June 1, following Marie Main's retirement on May 31.
Marika will be the operational backbone of our parish office, handling everything from daily communications and calendar coordination to supporting our day-to-day parish administration and operations.
Prior to joining Christ Church, Marika spent nearly four years at the Church of the Heavenly Rest in Manhattan. There, she spearheaded strategic income and space rental initiatives that directly supported church missions, successfully driving community partnerships and providing financial reporting to the Executive Committee. Her professional background also includes extensive experience in business operations and staff leadership within the wellness industry.
Marika earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Business/Corporate Communications from Baruch College. Known for her strategic planning, organizational leadership, and warm demeanor, she is eager to bring her skills to the Christ Church Pelham congregation.
When she isn't in the office, she is usually busy being a soccer mom, cheering on her son and his team on a field somewhere throughout New York City.
Please feel free to pop into the parish office in June to say hello, introduce yourself, or just share your favorite local spot with Marika.
As we welcome Marika into this essential ministry, we also give heartfelt thanks to Marie Main, whose faithful service, dedication, and care for the life of Christ Church have blessed our parish community in countless ways over the past fourteen years. Information about Marie's Retirement celebration is HERE.
Please join us in praying for both Marie and Marika during this season of transition — giving thanks for Marie’s ministry among us and asking God’s blessing upon Marika as she begins her work at Christ Church.
Grant, O Lord, that Marie may know the peace and joy of your abiding presence in retirement, and that Marika may be strengthened with wisdom, grace, and compassion as she begins this new ministry among us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
